Chongdong Theater was built in 1995 as a reproduction of Wongaksa, the first national theater in Korea. Located near Deoksugung and Jungmyeongjeon (Seoul-city designated Tangible Cultural Asset No. 53), Chongdong theater is a place where the spirit of Korean traditions is still alive. It has played an important role in introducing Korean culture around the world through the Korean Traditional Stage.

I believe that the Korean Traditional Stage at Chongdong Theater will lay the foundation for Korean culture to be globally recognized by enabling foreign tourists visiting Korea to experience the majestic and exciting Korean traditional arts firsthand.

I applaud with all my heart to Chongdong Theater which has made dedicated efforts to introduce the true beauty and delight of Korea to the world.
