It has been already eight years since Chongdong Theater first introduced the “Korean Traditional Stage” to the audience. Over the years, the “Korean Traditional Stage” has earned acclaim from a number of Koreans as well as foreign audiences for the superb traditional and cultural performance. The Korean traditional cultural performance is composed of four categories : Dance, Pung-Mul, Musical instrument performance and So-Ri. Marking the 10th anniversary of the opening of the theater, we have added new repertoire to the performance. Since the “Korean Traditional Stage” earned the Grand Prize from the Korea National Tourism Organization in 1999, it has been repeatedly selected as one of the top 10 must-visit places in Seoul. Various travelers’ guidebooks in Japan and America introduce the “Korean Traditional Stage”as one of the most-renowned traditional performance halls in Korea. Celebrating the 10th anniversary this year, we at Chongdong Theater will continue to lead efforts to introduce excellent Korean performance arts to a wider audience.
